Crisis

Empower a caregiver today!

Help us empower these caregivers with free nature-based respite programs. By supporting our women- and disability-owned initiatives, you contribute to those caring for loved ones with disabilities, aging, and chronic/mental/terminal illness. Our respite retreats are created and run by caregivers themselves.

"The retreat was an amazing container for growth, self-reflection, self-compassion, and feeling loved.

I felt the warm embrace of everyone there and it was amazingly soul-enriching. There were so many wonderful moments, so much laughter. T

here were also many tears but they were held so tenderly and compassionately these moments also became so healing." ~Jodi

Crisis:

100 million US adults function as caregivers, with 75% being women.

Caregivers represent the fastest-growing employee group, with 73% of all employees currently having caregiving responsibilities.

AARP reports family caregivers provided an estimated 34 billion hours of care  — worth a staggering $470 billion.

This crisis calls for a solution.

Solution:

Brutally Beautiful, a proud women- and disability-owned business, is dedicated to crafting a supportive environment for individuals seeking healing.

Caregivers and women are #somuchmore than their “labels”. And, they need support and care to BE so much more of who they are; to thrive, feel joy, and experience connection with nature, themselves, and others.

We hope you’ll consider donating to the #somuchmore campaign so that we can send dozens of caregivers and women to a nature-based Soul Care retreat in 2024.

Our nature-based programs focus on four core pillars supported by evidence-based healing modalities:

Tune In: Delve inward to explore the intricate connections between body, mind, and spirit.

Stay: Establish and maintain a secure space that encourages acknowledging and expressing emotions.

Explore: Embrace curiosity as you navigate the landscape of your feelings and emotions, understanding where and how they manifest.

Notice and Reflect: Foster nonjudgmental observations and awareness to facilitate learning and growth.

Our Programs

“I am writing of utmost gratitude for what you made happen at the AOEC. I just experienced an amazing and moving weekend at the Sugarloaf Lodge led by Heather Zoccali from Brutally Beautiful for a Caregiver Retreat. This weekend most importantly allowed me to spend time and have space for myself. As much as I love my role as a caregiver, I am tired, challenged, and often confused. The past few days I have gained rest, confidence, and clarity. I would describe it as pure soul-hugging.

The Retreat also provided a group of caregivers that I had so much in common with. I was able to laugh, cry, talk, listen, learn, and grow with like-individuals by my side. People I know I now share a special bond with.

Thank you for helping create this little slice of heaven where I can safely immerse in nature myself.” ~Lauren
